Joseph F. Byrd serves as the moderator of the Turbine Controls & Overspeed Protection (EHC/MHC) forum. Mr. Byrd is a independent consulting engineer on utility control systems calibration and maintenance specializing in steam turbine control systems, mechanical drive turbine control systems and steam turbine ancillary systems.

Alain Foote, B.Sc., C.Eng., F.I.MechE. serves as the moderator of the Support Systems Reliability forum. Mr. Foote has extensive knowledge and experience of the design and operation of steam turbines and their auxiliaries, and prior to retiring was responsible for Alstom's engineering support for a fleet of large steam turbines installed in power stations worldwide.

Dr. Simon Hogg serves as the moderator of the Steam Path Efficiency⁄Heat Rate forum. Dr. Hogg is a mechanical engineer with specific expertise in analytical, experimental and computational fluid dynamics, turbomachinery, aerodynamics, thermodynamics and heat transfer and a professor of engineering at Durham University in the UK.

Don Osborne serves as the moderator of the Reliability Monitoring⁄Instrumentation & Troubleshooting Don Osborne brings over 35 years of experience in various aspects of Power Plant Maintenance Engineering at Duke Energy to his role as moderator. He is currently a consulting engineer at Mechtell, Inc.

Ken Palmer serves as the moderator for the Overhaul & Maintenance Issues forum. Mr. Palmer is currently Senior Engineer at Florida Power & Light. He serves as FP&L's steam turbine fleet Subject Matter Expert. In this role, he provides technical input for day-to-day plant maintenance and outage activities.

Harold (Hal) Parker serves as the Steam Turnbine Forum Master. He is responsible for the overall technical oversight of all of the Steam Turbine Forum discussions, including assisting current moderators and working with the Webmaster in assigning qualified new moderators, when needed. Mr. Parker is and experienced engineer, technical trainer and the president of HPC Technical Services.

Fred Simma serves as the moderator of the Turbine Component Inspection and Non Destructive Examination (NDE) forum. Mr. Simma has over 30 years experience with the design, operation and maintenance of power generation plants. He is currently a consulting engineer with Black & Veatch.

Stephen R. Reid, P.E. serves as the moderator of the High Impact, Low Probability forum. Mr. Reid has over 32 years of turbine and rotating machinery experience. He specializes in turbine troubleshooting, health assessments condition assessments and expert witness services to major energy companies in the US. He is president of TG Advisors, Inc.

James Wieters serves as the moderator of the Operational Issues & Troubleshooting forum. Mr. Wieters is a Turbine Generator Project Manager at SCANA supporting operations, maintenance inspections, performance monitoring and modifications providing technical direction for the fleet nuclear, fossil, combined cycle, and combustion turbines. He has more than 35 years� experience as a utility engineer.
