Harold (Hal) Parker serves as the Forum Master for the IGTC's Steam Turbine Forum and brings his specialized experience in engineering and technical training to the position. He has more than 40 years experience in the Power Generation and related industries. For the first third of that time he was an employee of GE, serving as a Field Engineer in Detroit, a Start-Up Engineer in Detroit and Schenectady NY, a Training Specialist and Manager at Schenectady GE's Field Engineering Development Center where he authored many of GE's advanced training programs. Since leaving GE in 1983, Mr. Parker has primarily been involved in providing training services, although he has taken field assignments to cover startups, provide technical direction in an outage, and to troubleshoot control related problems. Mr. Parker owned and operated Schenectady Learning Systems from 1983 to 1989, was employed as Turbine Generator Manager with General Physics from 1989 to 1992, and in 1992 he formed HPC Technical Services and has managed this company until recently. Today, his responsibility is that of a technical author and instructor.
