Stephen R. Reid, PEStephen R. Reid, P.E. serves as the moderator of the High Impact Low Probability forum. Mr. Reid over 32 years of turbine and rotating machinery experience. He began his career at the Westinghouse Electric Corporation Steam Turbine-Generator Division. At Westinghouse's Orlando operation, he specialized in turbine-generator troubleshooting and new turbine design. He was one of the key developers of the Ruggedized Turbine Rotor Product line currently in operation worldwide. Before leaving Westinghouse, he led the design effort for the Westinghouse 200 megawatt turbine design targeted at combined cycle plant applications.

Now an independent power industry consultant and president of TG Advisers, Mr. Reid and his team have provided turbine troubleshooting, health assessments and expert witness services to major energy companies in the US. The company, has provided condition assessment evaluations on over 100 turbine generators in the U.S.

Mr. Reid is also a short course instructor for EPRI, ASME, Electric Power and Power-Gen. He has numerous patent disclosures and awards, and has published over 20 technical papers and articles. He was the 1993 recipient ASME's George Westinghouse Silver Medal Award for his contributions to the power industry and is past chairmen of the ASME Power Division's Generation Operations Committee. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Delaware.
