Mr. Milano has over 40 years experience in the electric power industry and is a recognized expert in generator and cable insulation systems and their inspection, testing, analysis, diagnotics and evalution. He is formerly the manager of the US Bureau of Reclamation's Hydroelectric Research and Technical Services Group. Mr. Milano is a senior member of IEEE's Power Apparatus Society and its Electrial Insulation Society, and also has served as the chair of EPRI's Hydropower Research Committee and on the Hydro Review Publisher's Advisory Board. He has contributed to the development of multiple standards in these areas, including the Reclamation Ramp Test, a DC high-voltage test now recognized in IEEE standards as an accepted method to evaluate generator electrical insulation. He is the author of numerous IEEE, EPRI and Doble technical papers, industry magazine articles, and USBR guidelines and standards, some of which are referenced in the IGTC Resource Center's Reference Library. Mr. Milano holds a BSEE and MSEE (both with Electric Power emphasis) from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester, Massachusetts. Now as a consulting engineer, Mr. Milano is involved with various aspects of power plant technical services ranging from diagnostics, evaluations, inspections, and root cause and failure analyses. He also provides technical training and briefings, and expert opinions for utility and other industry clients.
