Alan Spisak, P.E. serves as the moderator of the Vibration Monitoring forum.
Mr. Spisak has over 20 years of experience as a mechanical engineer and is president of Electro-Mechanical Engineering Associates (EME). He specializes in large rotating electric machinery in the areas of new design, equipment enhancement, trouble shooting and failure analysis. He is experienced with a wide range of equipment including hydrogenerators, turbine generators and wind turbine generators; synchronous, induction and DC motors; excitation systems and other specialty equipment.
During his career, Mr. Spisak regularly has been involved with projects involving:

Mechanical design of components and systems in large rotating apparatus

Supervision of the installation and alignment of large rotating apparatus

Failure analysis, performance evaluation, and design uprating of machinery

Machine vibration measurement, testing, analysis, and corrective action

Management of the design and manufacture of EME turbine generator collectors
Mr. Spisak holds a B.S.M.E.T. degree from Pennsylvania State University, The Behrend College and A.S.M.E.T. Pennsylvania State University, McKeesport Campus. He is a Professional Engineer registered in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
He has served as president of Electro-Mechanical Engineering Associates since 2005. Prior to that he served as EME's Manager of Operations.
